Googling The "Scholars"

Ever tried scholar.google.com? It's supposedly only in beta, but is useful already. Look at it as Google's way of filtering out the noise; something to try when you want quality, not quantity.

p.s. Those aren't meant to be scare quotes in the subject, merely thought-provokers; I rather like the current shift away from empty credentialism, and hope it runs further.
