John Kerry - perhaps unaware the election is over? - is in the midst of a campaign tour of the Middle East, where he is aligning himself with anyone who opposes Bush. His latest stop was Syria. Here's a pic:



Remember that this was a clear photo op for Kerry with the world's sole remaining Baath Socialist dictator.

Kerry's deferential body posture and the "Assad, that's a fascinating comment" tilt of the head say it all. Mr. Kerry is not just meeting with the man in order to learn. He is openly sucking up to him in front of the cameras.

And he wonders why America's troops don't like him?
