Shooting The Messenger

Mohammed A. R. Galadari asks a good question:

WHY, I wonder, is it that the profession of journalism is becoming more riskier as years pass? According to an annual report on the hazards facing the media, last year was the deadliest in a decade for journalists around the world. Why is this so?
If I may venture an answer ... it's because MSM journalists hardly even pretend to be objective any longer. They are obvious advocates of one side (usually favoring the authoritarian), which makes them partisans. Partisans are targets.

Even those journalists who do try to maintain objectivity get caught in the same trap. Ironically, in their case, it's then usually for not being partisan enough: management of expectations and all that.
